MANILA, Philippines — Flash floods hit several areas in Metro Manila on Friday morning, according to an advisory by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Flood Control Information Center, causing traffic and stranding commuters.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Servicesd Administration (Pagasa) said in an early morning forecast that a lowpressure area (LPA) spotted in the area of Baler, Aurora is likely to bring rain in Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon throughout the day.

Gutter-deep floods were reported in parts of Paranaque but remained passable to all types of vehicles.

Tire-deep floods were reported along Dr. A. Santos Avenue near Parañaque National High School northbound, making the road impassable to all vehicles.

In Mandaluyong, the northbound lane of the EDSA Shaw tunnel was gutter-deep but remained passable to all types of vehicles., This news data comes from:http://kwvsy.xs888999.com

Pasay, EDSA Roxas northbound with half-tire-deep floods was impassable to light vehicles while Andrews Avenue Tramo westbound with gutter-deep waters remained passable.

Gutter-deep floods along Roxas–Quirino service road northbound, Roxas Boulevard–Quirino Avenue intersection, and Roxas Boulevard–U.N. service road remained passable to all vehicles.

Roxas–Kalaw northbound and southbound roads, however, were not passable with tire-deep floods.

In Makati, gutter-deep floods at Roxas–Buendia northbound were reported but which remained passable to all vehicles.

The government's flood control projects are under investigation amid allegations of corruption by agencies responsible for their implementation in collusion with their contractors, coming to light after three storms and a strong southwest monsoon in June and July caused heavy flooding in the country, displacing thousands of residents, damaging infrastructure and crops.

No less than President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. himeslf has threatened to file charges of economic sabotage against these erring officials and construction companies after his inspection in affected areas showed uncompleted or nonexistent structures.

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways, the agency directly responsible for the enforcement of these flood control projects, have prepared its own charges, coming under fire from Congress which is now investigating the scandal.
